(Well, OK, I confess, there were a few moments when I sat at my desk with terrible writer's block, feeding my ebay addiction, reading my horoscope online, and skyping with my friends all over the world, but that's perfectly normal and part of being a writer… well that's what I like to tell myself…) For those of you who haven't read the new book yet, here's a little taster…
Everyone is looking for The One, their soulmate, their true love. But what happens if you find The One, and then you can't get rid of them? This is exactly what happens to Lucy who meets Nate in Italy when she's a teenager. It's love at first sight, and as far as she's concerned, he's her soulmate. Caught up in the whirlwind of first love, they kiss under the Bridge of Sighs and – according to local legend – are tied together for eternity. But when the summer is over Nate returns to America and Lucy returns to the UK and it all becomes a distant memory… But ten years later fate brings them back together again. And again. And again. Only it doesn't seem as wonderful as it had before. But if Nate's not The One – then why on earth is it proving so hard to break up with him? It's a funny romantic comedy, with a little touch of magic, and I do think it's my best book yet, so please let me know what you think. For my readers across the Atlantic it's not out in the US until next year, so you'll have to wait just a little while, but in the meantime I want to say a big thank you for all for your lovely emails about The Two Lives of Miss Charlotte Merryweather which was published just a few months ago in the US. Thanks so much guys! OK, well onto other big news… after spending the last six months travelling around the world, researching locations, ideas and plots and getting inspiration for new characters, I've started my ninth book! Yes, I can hardly believe it either, but I've thought of a whole new story, which I hope you'll love as much as I do, and I've just finished writing chapter one. This one doesn't have a name yet, and I don't want to tell you too much about it, but let's just say it's all about second chances… Well, that's all for now, I better get back to writing that new book… return to top |
